Hey everyone! thanks for checking back with clevver movies, Im Tatiana Carrier and I have an update on the battle between thor and captain america...well the box office battle that is! It turns out, after doing all the math, Thor did infact beat the Caps numbers by just a tiny bit...making thor STILL the best NEW superhero movie this summer. Early estimates claimed that Captain america the first avenger earned $65.8 million over the weekend — only just $100000 higher than Thor's $65.7 million debut in May — but final numbers for the film lower that number just a bit to $65.1 million. No credit taken away from the cap at all, but facts are facts and we needed to fill our movie gurus in! We also must point out that thor DID recieve more business simply from the 3d/imax sales...so either way, we think cap scored! do you think imax/3d sales should be weighting in some way when dubbing box office winners...you know, just to be more fair?
